I totally pride myself on being a low maintenance person… I get by with little in life & don’t enjoy making a big deal about things when I can avoid it. Woefully, there is one area of my life where I tend to fall flat, that is when it comes to indoor temperature control. Woefully, I have been equipped with a body that does not do a good task moderating its own temperature, as such, I rely pretty heavily on central heating & cooling machines where my physiology fails. I suppose that I am the unfortunate outlier when it comes to normal temperature control preferences, and my peers are typically comfortable when I’m completely ice-cold & shivering in my boots. Unfortunately, this can be a sizable issue when it comes to working in public spaces, settling down with a significant other, or cohabitating with roommates. In fact, recently I have been thinking a lot about managing my poor temperature control without being a bother to my roommates. As the outdoor weather conditions has been changing up harshly, our indoor thermostat programming has been way too cold for my liking. I have not wanted to be a bother to my roommates because I suppose that I am the one who has unreasonable temperature preferences. Still, it got me thinking about how I survived with roommates in the past. That’s when I realized, I’ve typically had many space heating machines in my possession. At all other points in my life, I utilized small electric heating machines to supplement my living space without being a bother to my warmer blooded companions… When I moved to the South, I never considered bringing my collection of space heating machines – even after my roommates thoroughly froze me.
