We’ve always been pretty fantastic about general service on our Heating, Ventilation & A/C system so when my fantastic friend and I started having an issue my fantastic friend and I were a bit surprised.

My pal and I only have it took care of every other year because my fantastic friend and I don’t use it as much as many people do even though I do perform preventive service twice a year.

My pal and I use a high-performance filter on the system so that it can attract small dust particles & bacteria to keep the air in our home safe. I always make sure that the interior equipment as well as exterior equipment have ample space around them so that debris doesn’t cause an issue as well. I provide a visual check of things like the coolant lines & wiring to make sure nothing has disfigurementd them but the one thing I did not know that I needed to do was flush the drain lines on the a/c. My pal and I started to smell a strange smell when my fantastic friend and I were outside, it smelled like a stagnant pond & realized it was coming from the drain line of the air conditioning unit. I went online to see how I could service this & many of the sites said that you can flush a easy bleach water mixture down the drain & it will kill any algae that has developed in the line. I followed the easy steps that were advocated & within a couple of days the smell disappeared & the websites also said that this would help prevent disfigurement to the air conditioning equipment from bacteria buildup. If you are not sure how to do this I highly request contacting an Heating, Ventilation & A/C professional to have them come take care of this for you. I am pretty handy so it is not that hard but if you are not proficient at home service you are better to trust a professional.
