I can never find the remote when I need it.
It seems that just about everything in my house has a remote control.
The obvious things like the television, sound system, and cable box are just a few of them.
With modern technology there are remotes to control the dimming of the lights, the speed of the ceiling fans, and even my smart thermostat. The problem with having so many of them is keeping them in a location where I can easily find what I need. I used to think it was difficult just trying to find the TV remote because it was usually stuffed down the cushion of the couch but now I am constantly searching for one remote or another. During the summer time I like to keep the fan remote and thermostat remote close by so I can adjust them when I feel too hot or too cold. Unfortunately, there are other members of my family who want them close to them too. I have decided I want to put up a shelf in the living room that is dedicated to remotes only. This way they can all be centrally located where anyone can reach them whenever they want them. However, getting everyone to agree to put them back will be difficult. It is easy to get distracted and just put them down wherever you are and that is the biggest problem. It is not good to pay for a smart thermostat if you can’t find the remote to control it or the person who has it programmed into their phone isn’t home. In that case you have to try to get a hold of them and ask them to adjust the temperature if you aren’t able to figure it out manually. Remote controls are a great convenience in today’s society but only if they can be used when needed.
