Hydronic heating does wonders for cold

I’m watching my cat and waiting for it to fall off the bed.

It is sleeping and half of its body is hanging off the bed and it will only be a matter of time before its center of mass topples over the edge of the bed and the cat falls down.

But it will somehow land on its feet, even in the middle of a slumber, which is why I am not going to touch it. The cat is a year old and really agile, so when it comes to something like this I am totally fine. The old heater is another place the cats like to sleep because they like heating the body up when it is cooling down in the flat in the wintertime. I am happy I got cats to keep me company while I am on my own again because I don’t feel so alone. The central heating system is a hydronic type of heating which uses water to heat the house, and as far as I know it is pretty efficient too. We switched to this system a while back but we never got rid of the old system because the cats like it too much for sleeping. The old HVAC system was built in the 70’s I think, and the SEER rating on that unit is quite low when you compare it to the units that are out on the market today. We haven’t really used it in a long time, but it still is a warm spot for the cats because the sun heats it up when it hits it in the day.
