I’m guilty of not paying enough attention. And I’m not just referring to when people are talking to me. But really, I’ve been sort of disconnected from the moment for a really long time. Being so involved with my career is the main culprit. I spend so much time inside the commercial HVAC of my office strategizing and preparing that I don’t get my head in the here and now much. When I walk inside the central air conditioning of my home at night, all I want to do is turn off my head and relax. Yet, this is another way I’m not paying attention because I just put on mindless drivel on the TV and vegetate. This Spring, I decided to change all this up. One way I started to focus on the moment was by really having a hard look at what’s most essential in my life. I learned that I was paying way less attention to the most important and vital things in my life. Along with my relationships and my own personal balance, I have committed to refocusing on other essentials. Like really focusing on the stuff that takes care of me. The residential HVAC is a prime example. I’ve been less than consistent when it comes to the essential HVAC maintenance the HVAC unit needs. So I called the HVAC company this Spring and made an appointment for an air conditioning tune up. But I didn’t stop there. I also signed up for the HVAC service plan. This will ensure that something as essential as our quality heating and air will be paid attention to in the manner it deserves.
