The security guards weren’t going to let me come inside
A couple in an upscale building called for repair on their A/C system.
It was my first time going to this particular building and my boss told me that I had to check in with the front desk.
The A/C repair job was the first thing on my schedule on Wednesday morning. I went directly to the address and found a parking spot on the second level. I carried a bag of tools to the front of the office. I knew that I might need more tools, however I did not want to carry everything until I knew what was going to be necessary. There were security guards at the front desk. The guys wanted my identification and the number of the house where I was visiting. I gave them my driver’s license and all of the information for the client that I was visiting. The security guards looked at me a couple of times, however they weren’t going to let me come inside of the building. They looked at me like I was full of baloney but I was carrying a bag of tools. They finally decided to call the couple’s in the apartment. They confirmed that I was there to fix the A/C unit. The security guards gave me dirty looks and then they opened up the elevator so I could go to the third floor. Every time I walked in and out of the building the security guard made me stop and show my ID again. After the third time, I thought they were just being jerks.
