My neighbor is this sweet old lady who has been living in this area for decades. She always says her and her late husband were among the first people to live in this neighborhood. Back then, it was considered a bit too far from the city, and many people preferred living elsewhere. However, life has changed, and now it’s among the most sought after locations for families. We relocated here after we purchased the house next door, and she was there to greet us when we moved in. I’ve met grumpy old people, but she is such a darling, and the kids love her. They actually call her nana, and are always making sure she has all she needs in her home. Last week, one of the kids had been raking nana’s yard and chatting with her. She kept saying there was a noise coming from the outdoor compressor which was keeping her up at night. This is why she was tired and not feeling good. Our son came home and told us about the faulty compressor which was causing nana lots of stress. My partner has a friend who is an HVAC expert and phoned him to ask if she could help. Her HVAC company always does charity work which includes fixing units for the elderly at little to no fee. She said they still had the program, and she was happy to come and help Nana out. It turns out there was a loose part that was causing the rattling noise in the outdoor compressor. The HVAC expert even went ahead to do a full maintenance for Nana’s HVAC system.
