If something breaks around our house, I regularly try to repair it myself before I call a professional.

It’s not even so much that I want to save money on repairs as it is that I just like being able to do things myself.

I am just an independent man and I have regularly been that way, ever since I was a kid! My parents talk about the way that I used to try to repair my own bike and stereo, and other things like that when I was growing up. I would refuse to let anyone else help me with things that were broken unless it was absolutely necessary. I think that’s just something that’s in my personality, and I can’t say that I’m any different now that I’m an adult. I still never want to call a professional to repair things around the apartment unless I definitely have to. For instance, a few days ago our oil furnace died, and I have a pretty old oil furnace and sporadically it just doesn’t seem to work right. When it tore up the other night, I banged around on it a few weird times and then I ended up taking it apart until I could see what in the world was going on with it. I figured out what the concern was, however there was no way for me to repair it myself. It made me definitely upset, although I ended up having to call the local Heating and A/C corporation to come and repair the oil furnace for me. I would much rather have fixed it myself though.
