I’m always talking about this friend or that friend it seems, but at least I have some friends to talk about. The older I get the more dear and special my old friends are to me. Some of them are gone now, which makes the ones that are left even more special because you know they won’t be around forever. My step dad always told me that family is everything and friends come and go, but he has no friends and doesn’t realize that you can have friends for life if you choose to. My heating provider buddy has been a great friend of mine for the past 40 years or more, and I have a whole bunch of other friends from the past 30 years that I met while working in the heating and cooling technology field over the years. I think that is a pretty long time to keep friends, and the words my step dad said to me really don’t ring true for all those buddies of mine who are still in my life. I had a bonfire party with our outdoor fireplace the other night and about 30 or so of my HVAC tech and HVAC rep friends came by to hang out with me. I met them all over the years while working in the industry and will continue to stay in touch with them for the next 20 years or as long as I am alive. Later this evening I am doing a heating tune up with this guy who owns a heating business in my town, and I’ve known him for almost 45 years!
