Heated Floors, Hydronic Heating, and the Short Ride of Life
I can really see how short the ride of life is living overseas and visiting home every six months to a year.
I’ve been living overseas on the Spanish coast for about eight years now and am really noticing how fast time is going and how everyone is aging so quickly, including myself.
You notice the passage of time more when you are gone for chunks of time like I have been. People have babies, die, graduate from school, get married, and all the other stuff in between. It’s like watching a movie unfold right in front of your eyes. Heating and cooling equipment repairs and installations keep me busy working for the local contractor, and then when I come home I realize how much has changed in the year that I have been gone. I am trying to stay connected with all of my friends here in my hometown, but it is proving to be a challenge when I am only back for a few weeks or a couple of months at a time. I guess I could move back and start my own local business doing furnace and heater service, but I really like living overseas and will probably do so for another five years or so. I will probably move back to my hometown here in the Sunshine State when my mom hits 80 years old or is alone if my stepdad passes away, which I hope isn’t anytime soon. Mom will need help with her HVAC equipment one day and being an HVAC expert would come in handy if I was living there again.
