Be careful while carrying large objects
Be careful while carrying large objects
My parents are getting a little older, however they refuse to admit it… I assume so terrible for them.
It is strenuous to watch them struggle to do the things that they once did, however it is reality! My wife has tried several times to help our dad fix things all around where I live, however our dad refuses the help because she wants to prove that she can still do everything that she used to be able to do.
I have to turn our heads away every once in a blue moon when our dad is climbing all over the roof or decreasing light fixtures that are high up in her barn. I know that the truth of her aging may have finally hit him this past Wednesday. It is June, and she wanted to get her air conditioner out of the attic. Naturally, she did not ask for help, and she had knee surgery a couple of weeks ago, and her knee is still not completely healed, apparently when she was walking down the stairs, her knee gave out on her, and she fell down an entire flight of stairs. Thankfully, she did not chop anything, however her knee may need another surgery now. She did not even care about her knee though. She was just super aggravated that her air conditioner was not working. I tried to tell him that every one of us could get him another air conditioner, but she was so aggravated that she got in the car and drove to the store to buy a totally different air conditioner immediately. She could barely walk, but she thought that she needed a new air conditioner right then. I hope that this incident teaches him to ask for help more often.
