She got upset and claimed that I never thought about her when I decided to say yes to the job

Sometimes you don’t know a relationship is over until it hits you in the face. I feel like that is happening with my girlfriend right now. We have been together for 2 years and I thought that we were happy. I thought we were moving in the same direction with the same hopes, goals, and dreams. I got offered a raise and a promotion at work. In order to take the HVAC contractors job, I had to move two hours away. I was very excited for the promotion, because it was a significant raise and a huge step up in the company for me. I was no longer going to be working as a residential HVAC service technician. This was my way to get my foot into the door for government contracts and huge business deals. Some HVAC contractors earn six figure salaries and even higher when they can branch out on their own. I brought a bottle of wine home to my girlfriend and she knew that something was going on. I immediately sat down and told her about the promotion. She got upset and claimed that I never thought about her when I decided to say yes to the job. She wasn’t as happy as I thought she was going to be and that really made me open my eyes and look at our relationship. I think that she thought I would turn down the job, but there’s no way that I can say no to this opportunity. If my girlfriend doesn’t want to go with me, then I guess our relationship has run its course.
