Overheated On Christmas Morning
Overheated On Christmas Morning
Let me tell you about the big mistake I made that lead to me waking up last Christmas morning almost about to die! On Christmas Eve, it was freezing outside.
- The temperature was nearly 5 degrees.
I am not kidding about that! It was a rare sort of thing. But anyway, I turned up my heating so high just to warm the house. And it felt great at the time. However, I forgot to turn down the thermostat before I went to bed! As it went further into the night, the temperature went up to the normal Winter temperatures in the 40’s. Well, when I woke up, I was so overheated and dehydrated, I literally almost died! I was dizzy and choking. I was thinking that maybe I was having a heart attack or something like that. Just as I was about to stumble to the phone to call the emergency room, I noticed the thermostat read over one hundred degrees!! I then remembered about how high I had cranked the thermostat. I right away flipped on the central air conditioning system cranked down to 50 degrees! Within about 20 minutes, I managed to get the house down to about 70 degrees. And that was good. I drank lots of water and then the dizzy feeling began to go away. What a close call that was! I know next time, that if it is ever that cold again, I will not crank the thermostat that high! Just in case I forget to turn it down again. I’d rather feel a bit nippy.
