I moved overseas about seven years ago to pursue comedy but have since left the field and feel like my life is a bit directionless at the moment.

I am wondering if moving back to my hometown in the states would be good for me or not.

I like living here in this small town overseas but feel like it isn’t offering me room to grow. I have a job working for the local contractor, which is nice of him to employ me, but at the same time I feel like I am spinning my wheels once again. I do like playing music at the local businesses with my friend but it doesn’t pay very well and I feel like it isn’t going to get any better with pay. I think moving to the states would pretty much ruin my music career because I would have to work a lot to survive there because of the crazy high cost of living. I could work for my friend’s HVAC company but I would probably have to work so much to keep up with my bills that I would have no energy or time to play music like I do here. I think I will just stay put and see where life takes me here because I really do love this town. I have a good HVAC business here to work for and a good group of friends to hang out with so what more do I really need? I will just keep playing drums and practicing and maybe I can do shows in the nearby big city for money.
