I knew our child desperately needed a haircut

I kept telling our child that he needed a haircut for the longest time.

I even gave to take him to the barbershop a few times, but he said he wanted to grow out his hair.

Well, eventually my partner gave to put his hair in braids. I was surprised when he agreed to this. She ended up putting his hair in cornrows and it looked surprisingly good. He didn’t mind wearing his hair like that for a little while. I remember while he was getting the braids done, he kept shouting “Ow!” But once the job was completed he seemed very cheerful looking in the mirror. That whole time, they had the A/C cranked in the kitchen. I suppose there was something about the extra cooling that made our child more comfortable while having his hair tightly woven into cornrows. When I told him he had to have those braids undone though, he didn’t seem interested. I told him he had to be able to scrub his hair though so they were in the kitchen again with the A/C plan cranking. I suppose taking out all the braids was more strenuous than putting them together because he seemed like he was in greater pain this time, even with the A/C plan giving him comfort. I was surprised when he said I could take him to the barbershop after that. Apparently, he didn’t want to deal with braids anymore and he no longer wanted such longer hair. I took him to the barber shop and for him, they cranked the A/C plan just the way he wanted so he could be comfortable while in this experience. His current haircut looks fresh and I feel he’s proud of it.
