My husband and I are going on a tropical vacation in two months. We are going for a week and are very excited. It was difficult booking a trip so close to the departure time. All the hotels were pretty much booked up. Any standard room was gone. Basically it was suites in good hotels or garbage hotels with awful rooms left. I did a bit of hunting around and found a game changing fact. So the island doesn’t consider it necessary to provide air conditioning. Most of the hotels don’t even provide a cooling system. The cheaper condo hotels don’t have any AC on the site, not even in the gym. Basically only high end hotels provide air conditioning during the tourist season. I looked up the weather and it is going to be in the 80s. My husband would flip out if I provided a hotel room without any air conditioning. So the cheaper hotels were out. I had to hunt around high end hotels and see what rooms were left. This trip is going to be more expensive than our honeymoon. We are staying in classy hotels, in a suite with an ocean view. That was all that was left! I feel it is worth the money to have air conditioning, a gym with AC, a spa and walking distance to the beach. Hopefully the sting of the money spent won’t ruin the trip. I think it is going to be amazing living the high life. I am very glad that we are going to have AC in our room.
