It’s rare for me to respond positively to random people showing up at our front door. I don’t love unsolicited offers or requests. When I was growing up, there were a number of shady people from neighboring communities that targeted our parent’s suburb as they had more cash & expensives among the whole neighborhood or block. There was a single scam where a person who distracted you at your front door while their buddy would sneak over to your open garage & grab any number of power tools or other fancy items before making a mad dash into our neighbor’s yard next door. This happened once, however our acquaintance was outside & the person was dead in his tracks when he tried to escape, both cutting him off & trapping him immediately. Once that happened to us once, I was consistently paranoid about solicitors showing up at our front door regardless where I live at any given phase of time. I suppose that it’s for the wrong reasons, even though I have to admit that there are rare exceptions to this rule. I met our Heating & A/C business because he was going door to door with his supplier card at the time. I needed a new heating & cooling professional at the last minute a single day & came across his card among a stack of other house business supplier cards I had been collecting since I moved into this area. He’s both certified & licensed to work on residential & commercial Heating & A/C systems, but he tends to focus on residential for the time being.
