When the two of us bought this house, it came with a nice boiler system.

The thing is, after the first Wintertide the two of us had some fairly lavish heating bills, then even when tightening everything up in the home and putting plastic over the windows, the energy bills were rather costly.

In the Springtime season, the two of us decided to have a ductless mini split system installed. Now, originally I just wanted this to keep us cool in the summer time weeks and the two of us could still use the boiler in the winter. Well, when studying how this system provides heating as well, I decided to totally put it up to the test the following winter. While it was somewhat frigid in portions of the home just using the ductless mini split, it entirely worked pretty well to give fantastic heating to the house. Eventually though, the two of us had to turn on the boiler system too though when the temperatures dropped to very frigid levels. I genuinely suppose if the two of us installed a bigger ductless Heating and A/C system, the two of us could easily keep the whole home moderate enough through the Wintertide with lower heating costs, however that’s going to be another lavish installation. I also have been considering upgrading the boiler system to something that is far more energy efficient. It’s a nice boiler system that works well enough, however you can tell it’s very old and I’m sure there are boiler systems that are current and far more energy efficient that that old thing is. I just want to be able to get through the whole Wintertide season with severely low energy bills. Thanks to the ductless mini split though, the two of us stay perfectly cool with such low energy bills, I can’t guess it.
