Long before there were air conditioners in our vehicles, our houses, our workplaces, and our stores, we actually had all of these things. Most of the early cars in our society had no air conditioner. Most stores had no air conditioners. All of the houses before the early 1900s had no air conditioners! I am glad that we have air conditioners today, but I realize that air conditioners aren’t essential to life. Sometimes, I like to imagine what my life would be like without an air conditioner. I honestly think that I could do away with the air conditioner in my house. I live in the North, and my house is conveniently located in the woods. Though our air conditioner may help to keep our house a few degrees cooler, it isn’t necessary even for normal comfort. However, air conditioners are a lot more important in a vehicle. If you have ever owned a vehicle with a broken air conditioner, you know exactly what I am talking about. My car has a black leather interior, and when I try to get into my car when the sun has been shining on it, it feels like it is 90 degrees in there. No matter what season it is, the sun makes my car feel like a furnace. Even driving down the road with the windows down doesn’t make it more comfortable. If I could only choose to have an air conditioner in one place for my entire life, I would definitely choose to have an air conditioner installed in my car.
