When I wake up in the morning, it takes considerable strength and will to force my lazy tail out of bed to start my day.

As soon as I pull open the covers, I’m hit with an uncomfortable rush of cold air that quickly envelopes my entire body in an instant. Usually I make a beeline to the bathroom to take a hot shower. For a few years in my childhood, my family had little money and couldn’t even afford a proper water heater during some of the worst winters I’ve ever endured. A hot shower was a luxury we couldn’t always afford, so I relish them whenever I can take them. It’s nice to stand underneath the shower head while the steam rises from your skin. But as comfortable as I am during my hot shower, it’s uncomfortable the minute I step outside the shower to get my towel and dry off. I had no idea how to mitigate this effect beyond radiant heated flooring in the bathroom. But this was the least of my worries the other day when I dried off and went into the kitchen to make my coffee. I noticed that the air coming out of the vents on the floor was much cooler than it was supposed to be. It was obvious that something was wrong with the heating system, so I immediately called my HVAC contractor to send out a technician for repairs. To my luck, the technician arrived in a matter of hours after I placed the call.
