When I was a kid, I used to ask my father all kinds of things like why he always changed the air filters every month.

He said that dirt was the enemy of the HVAC system and the air filters stopped the dirt from getting into the inner workings of the HVAC.

He also explained how the air filters worked also to keep the air quality good in our home, to keep us nice and healthy with cleaner air. It kind of made sense to me. I also asked him about the ductwork system. This is funny because I caught him off guard and he asked what about it. I said that the ductwork seemed pretty dirty too, so why didn’t we have that cleaned out as well. My father thought about it and said I was right, he needed to call for a professional ductwork cleaning. I didn’t even know that the ductwork would have to be cleaned by professionals, I thought we would be able to do something like that on our own. Of course, when the HVAC experts came out to clean our ductwork system, they had this interesting vacuuming tool with all kinds of crazy connections. My father said those cleaning tools were very expensive and usually only carried by HVAC experts. He said we could try to clean the ductwork ourselves, but we wouldn’t do nearly as good of a job as the HVAC experts could. They did a great job for sure, I was blown away when I saw the before and after pictures. The ductwork system was truly filthy before the HVAC experts cleaned everything out and made it look shiny again.
