Most of the time, I legitimately love the high temperatures while I was in the summer.

But whenever I’m condo from college, I labor at the farm that’s on the other side of town and sometimes it gets way too hot! I love the summer time and the beach and the pool and all of those things, but whenever you have to labor outside and do manual labor, it’s a odd story.

I know that laboring hard and doing physical work is a good thing to build character and keep you healthy. However, sometimes it’s hard to be outside for 8 hours a day without a cut when you would love to be resting in the a/c inside somewhere! Last year, the two of us had record cutting temperatures while I was in the summer time and let me tell you, it was legitimately hard to be outside on those nights when the temperatures were in the high 90s. Several times a day, I would have to take a cut so I could go and cool off in the a/c inside of my truck. The only location in the whole farm that is air conditioned is the little front office area, and the two of us aren’t allowed to congregate there because there has just not enough room for all of the farm hands. Needless to say, it was a legitimately long, overheated summer. They say that this year it’s not going to be quite as bad, and I am ecstatic. I’m also planning on getting 1 of those little portable cooling systems to wear around my neck while I’m laboring there this year!
