I get surprised by how often modern HVAC units stop certainly working in my house.

I have invested thousands of my dollars into the purchase and maintenance of my gas furnace & cooling system, so I naturally expect that these HVAC units are built in such a way that I wouldn’t have to keep worrying about paying an HVAC serviceman to repair my cooling system or gas furnace.

However, I am always required to pay tons of dollars every year to have my HVAC units diagnosed and worked on by an HVAC serviceman, & without fail, the HVAC service people consistently finds something that needs to be repaired or replaced for a couple of hundred smackers. If I fail to heed the advice of the HVAC serviceman, I consistently experience a major malfunction of my gas furnace or cooling system whenever I need them the most. What the heck is wrong with modern HVAC units? I have a sneaking suspicion that cooling systems & natural gas furnaces are built to not last honestly long. All technology is moving this direction. Like desktop computers this week, HVAC units are not made to last as long as the HVAC units that our forebears would have used. However, they are also more fancy than the HVAC units that our forebears used to us. The problem is that both of us have become so dependant on our HVAC units that both of us don’t believe we can survive without them. All of us are forced to pay harshly high prices to HVAC service people because both of us have no choice. If HVAC companies had more integrity, this wouldn’t be any problem for us. They would make HVAC units that are built to last.
