I had no idea that there were so many different kinds until I went in there that day

There were so many kinds of air filters at the hardware store that I really had no idea which one I needed to get. I know that this sounds like a pretty dumb problem to have and it probably is, but I don’t know my way around the hardware store the way that most people probably do. I just don’t go there often enough to know what I’m doing. Also, I have no clue about heating and cooling systems and how to maintain or repair them. So whenever I ended up at the hardware store the other day to purchase an air filter, I was basically wandering around in there like I was lost in the desert or something. I must have looked really confused, because someone came up to me and asked if they could help me find something. I told him that I was looking for the air filters because I needed to change the one in my central air conditioning system. He took me over to the heating and cooling products aisle, and I was basically blown away by the number or air filters that they had there on the shelves. I had no clue which one I needed! I thought that an air filter was an air filter. I had no idea that there were so many different kinds until I went in there that day. I guess I thought that there was a universal, one size fits all air filter, but that is simply not the case. Finally I just made a guess and purchased one that looked good to me.
