So the Spring is quickly turning into summer.

But where both of us live, that’s not the worst thing ever.

Our summers aren’t the blistering heat equipment that our neighbors to the south endure. While both of us do need some air conditioner, it’s nothing on the order of what those folks have to deal with. I think that’s sort of a positive when it comes to this region. Our summers can get sizzling for 8 or 10 weeks. But the air conditioner rarely has to run at night as the temperatures fall significantly once the sunlight goes down. I’ve visited friends & family down south in the summer time & that heat pump is running night & day to supply the necessary Heating and Air Conditioning cooling. So I think both of us should count our blessings. Yet, both of us have to deal with a Winter time that folks down south just don’t deal with at all. And it can get entirely fancy as Heating and Air Conditioning heating costs just continue to rise. So last fall, I did some Winter time prep on the up-to-date home for the first time ever & it made a entirely giant difference. Really, it wasn’t all that tough & I should have been doing this for years. Prior to last fall, our Winter time prep consisted of calling the Heating and Air Conditioning supplier to get them out to do the heating maintenance on the gas furnace. That was it. While that heating maintenance is indeed substantial, what I did this fall made such a much greater difference when it came to saving on Heating and Air Conditioning heating costs. Sealing up the up-to-date home & keeping some temperature control discipline saved us nearly 20 percent on heating costs over the previous year.
