Living in the north all our life didn’t leave myself and others with much experience with how to correctly air condition a house.

That’s because where I grew up, unless I put in a window air conditioning system in the apartment, there is no HVAC cooling.

Growing up in a northern city, there wasn’t exactly a great need for air conditioning system. But when you didn’t have it, that’s when you really, absolutely wanted it. However, that added up to maybe 8 weeks out of the year. The rest of the HVAC equation for us was the heating of the apartment. That was no problem as the people I was with and I had beautiful radiant heat. So when the people I was with and I moved to the south, the people I was with and I got a crash course in HVAC cooling. The house the people I was with and I bought was the first time the people I was with and I lived in a house and the first a single the people I was with and I owned. On top of that, the people I was with and I lived out in a rural setting with no neighbors close by. So the people I was with and I left the window shades and drapes open all the time. Well, I found out quick that this is a recipe for an HVAC cooling bill that will undoubtedly blow your mind. I thought the air conditioning system was a bit overpriced in the Spring really. But after that first week of summer, I absolutely got a taste. Both of us abruptly figured out that the people I was with and I had to close a lot of shades in the house to stop the direct sun heating from raising the temperature of the ambient air. Once the people I was with and I did that and got a bit more control of some thermostat setting parameters, the people I was with and I got our HVAC cooling bill to a undoubtedly sustainable level.
