There is a superb line between supporting & encouraging your youngsters, & carrying them… I do not suppose it benefits a young person for their parents to do too much for them early on, but they need to learn responsibility & toil ethic, & that cannot happen if they do not work.

That said, if a child or young person works tough & puts in maximum effort, that should be rewarded.

I have followed that path with my children, & in my estimation have gotten superb results, then my youngest child Ethan just finished up with evening college after deciding he did not want to go to college, and he told myself and others his plan, to get certified for Heating & Air Conditioning work, get a task, & toil his way up through the ranks of the business. It was a superb plan, he had done his research, & had decided that reading heating & cooling repair would allow him to lead the life he wanted to live, something else I taught the youngsters is “work to live, don’t live to work” & Ethan thought that Heating & Air Conditioning would be his perfect path for that philosophy. He passed his certification test, got an internship with a local Heating & Air Conditioning business, & has been doing just superb for himself! Since then, as a way of rewarding his tough work, I have been paying him to some personal climate control projects for myself and others around the house. It’s superb practice for him, he works cheap, & now I have a superb new ventilation system installed in my living room adore I’ve always wanted!
