There is a enjoyable line between supporting and encouraging your kids, and carrying them, however i do not know it benefits a young person for their parents to do too much for them early on! They need to learn responsibility and labor ethic, and that cannot happen if they do not work.

That said, if a child or young person works taxing and puts in maximum effort, that should be rewarded.

I have followed that path with our children, and in our estimation have gotten good results, however my youngest child Ethan just finished up with night college after deciding he did not want to go to college; He told myself and others his plan, to get certified for Heating and Air Conditioning work, get a task, and labor his way up through the ranks of the corporation. It was a enjoyable plan, he had done his research, and had decided that reading heating and cooling maintenance would allow him to lead the life he wanted to live, and something else I taught the kids is “work to live, don’t live to work” and Ethan thought that Heating and Air Conditioning would be his perfect path for that philosophy. He passed his certification test, got an internship with a local Heating and Air Conditioning corporation, and has been doing just good for himself! Since then, as a way of rewarding his taxing work, I have been paying him to some personal temperature control projects for myself and others around the house. It’s enjoyable practice for him, he works cheap, and now I have a good current ventilation method installed in our study room like I’ve constantly wanted!
