No need for cooling repairs

I own a large patch of land out in the country.

  • I inherited it, and although it used to be a farm there had not been crops nor livestock here in 20 years.

The ranch house is very nice, and I like living here because of the open, scenic countryside and the solitude. I do get some oddballs who pass through from time to time, and one of them decided to stop and stay a while. He parked his RV about a half mile from my house, and just stayed there. After a few days I went over to introduce myself. His name was Gus, and he was a freelance HVAC tech making his way slowly across the country, state by state. I told him there wasn’t much HVAC work way out here in the farm lands. It turns out that Gus hadn’t stopped here because he wanted to, but because the RV wasn’t working right, and he needed to find some HVAC work to earn the money to pay for repairs. My house doesn’t even have a central HVAC system, so I certainly didn’t need his expertise. This place is very old, as I mentioned, so there is a mighty wrought iron furnace in the basement that is much older than I am. There is also a water boiler, but there is very little ductwork in the house, and no central cooling system at all. I told him again there wasn’t a lot of HVAC work out here, because only a few of us needed to own cooling systems.
