After talking to my son, the HVAC technician, about our boiler heating system, I knew that we had a problem. I had so many small leaks in the hot water holding bin, that I didn’t know what to do with them all. I had already tried welding them, and I ended up needing to replace a lot of the pipes. Now, I am faced with the possibility that I may need to replace the entire boiler heater. I knew that replacing the boiler was looming in the future. The boiler heating system was almost fifty years old. I don’t know how long a boiler heating system works, but this seems pretty old to me. The pipes that carry the heat to the baseboard heaters, were all corroding and they needed to be replaced. There are multiple pin holes appearing in the hot water tank. I have repaired some, but two more appear after I fix one. I have been looking at the cost to replace the boiler and it is much more than I can handle at the moment. I was telling my wife about the boiler and she smiled and told me she had already talked to our son. She showed me the information and the quote to replace the entire boiler heating system and baseboard heaters. She also told me that she had asked about getting a payment plan for the new heating system. Twelve payments over a year made the new heating system affordable for us and it saved me a lot of work. I don’t think I appreciate my wife as much as I should.
