Aunt Becky lived in a fantastic colonial-era home out in the countryside.

My twin brother and I loved to visit her whenever we could and spend time exploring the forest behind her home.

All her kids were grown and left to live their lives, so aunty Becky loved having us around. Mom got so much joy when we were there because it meant she could focus on her salon business at that time. Last winter, we went to the countryside with mom to surprise aunt Becky. She was turning 75 years old, and mom felt she needed a birthday surprise. She was so happy to see us but seemed a bit distracted. Aunty Becky explained that she was having problems with the heating system in her colonial-era home. Our aunt had a gas furnace installed in the house about 5 years ago. That morning she was woken up by a loud screeching noise coming from the gas furnace. Aunty Becky had no clue how to fix the noise, so she turned off the furnace to get some peace. Mom asked her if she had been in touch with an AC mechanic, and our aunt said she had called the AC company about two hours earlier. Aunty Becky was still waiting for the heating system mechanic to arrive when we got to her house. It was getting quite cold, and we all hoped the mechanic would show up sooner. He arrived half an hour after the conversation and began investigating the problem. The issue was the blower motor which had a worn-out bearing. The bearing had to be replaced if the loud screeching noise was to disappear from the heating unit.
