She forgets things she used to know, so now, I am the one who takes care of all of his expenses now. As a side note, my number is on most of his bills just in case. On Tuesday, I got a call from my dad’s air conditioning serviceman. He was double checking if I wanted them to go and replace the batteries in his thermostat. At first I was entirely confused until the cooling representative explained that my dad had called them twice over the last 2 days telling them that his thermostat didn’t work. The representative walked him through replacing the batteries both times. They just wanted to know if I would love for them to go change the batteries in the thermostat for him since he didn’t seem to understand the issue. I said thank you but I told them to not come because I knew I could do it myself. I don’t need to pay a maintenance fee for something as easy as that. I am just grateful that the air conditioning supplier is honorable and is also looking out for my dad so kindly. They could have come out both days and charged us and I wouldn’t have been able to dispute the charges. I absolutely wouldn’t even have known that they were taking advantage of an outdated man. Instead, they called me up first to make sure the issue was taken care of. I honestly was thankful for such a great HVAC company. I ended up replacing the batteries on my own. Now my dad’s HVAC system works great now and he is not having any more issues.
