There have been a slew of changes to our life over the last many years.

Most were welcome changes though so I am a fortunate woman.

I just didn’t realize that decreasing a single’s location could have such a sweeping effect overall. When I moved south, it wasn’t just the air conditioning that I had to get accustomed to. There were so many other cultural, culinary as well as climate differences that it entirely left our head spinning a bit for a while. My entire life up until I was 40 years aged was spent in the far northern reaches of this country. I grew up with a six month Wintertide as well as a gas gas furnace in all of the homes I ever lived in. The gas gas furnace was the centerpiece of the HVAC equipment. Central heating was entirely the only HVAC equipment to speak of in our homes. There were a few instances where I know I stuck in a window component air conditioning for a hot stretch in the summer. But large heat where I came from just wasn’t a thing. When I moved to the south, I flipped all that HVAC stuff on its head. And I was introduced to the heat pump for the first time. At first, it was pretty astounding to have both heating as well as cooling in a single piece of HVAC equipment. Soon but, I saw exactly why the heat pump is the reigning champ down here when it comes to HVAC. The heat pump is masterful at cooling a home. The air conditioning in this region is essential just as the heating was essential back home. So, I’m glad to have met the heat pump as well as look forward to a long, glad relationship.
