I’ll tell you, I never expected to work at a nursing home, but that’s where I ended up working.

I started as just a cleaning person and then I got to know a lot of the residents there.

Most of these people were fantastic and I even learned a few things from many of the people. I have heard some pretty amazing stories and it’s interesting to me to see the different preferences of temperature control settings. A lot of the residences are always feeling cold so they like the heating system to be cranked up. They have a ductless mini split system in the nursing home with an HVAC unit in each room. Every single resident has their own thermostat so they can adjust the temperature control settings to their liking. This is one of the main features I think that gets people to want to stay at the nursing home. Don’t get me wrong, the staff members are great and the building is really comfortable. The residents are taken care of properly and I think most people enjoy working at the nursing home. I ended up going to school to become an LPN so that I could do more for the patients at the nursing home. The money was so much better too. If I enjoy doing this work as I move forward, I will be going for my RN next and then I will be very comfortable with my finances. Then I will be able to afford the radiant heated floors that I always wanted.
