That first winter, I absolutely wondered just what I had been thinking that moving to the most northern reaches of the country would be no big deal. Of course it would be a big deal. It might not be for someone that grew up in a place that had a extreme winter. But, I came from a place where there aren’t even Heating and A/C gas furnace heating methods. If the people I was with and I needed heat during the winter, the people I was with and I simply flipped the heat pump over to heating mode. Not here plus not by a long shot is that the case. Here, the Wintertide is at least half the year if not longer. And the amount of snow plus ice is just remarkable. At first, I found all the snow to be entertaining plus attractive. Then, it became a constant, chilly chore that I had to deal with on a near biweekly basis. I came here for a task that would be integral to my career. It seemed like a no brainer. Now, I just hope I can survive the next 5 years because that is the commitment that I made taking this task. Hopefully, after that commitment is up, I can return to the land of the heat pump. But until then, I’m right here plus legitimately thankful to have a absolutely wonderful gas furnace as my Heating and A/C heating method. It it wasn’t for the consistent plus sizzling heating that comes from the gas furnace, I would not have a chance to complete my task assignment. At least I like the food up here but with the long, frigid winter, I sure do get fatter than I want. But maybe exercising indoors will help myself and others deal with the frigid as well.
