Back up heating contingency plan
Back up heating contingency plan
People tend to think that just because I live way up here in the mountains that I am backwards or primitive or something.
Listen here, just because I like to hunt and fish for my food, and grow my own crops, doesn’t make a primitive by any means.
I have a lot of the same tech you have in your house, but on top of that I can also live a self sufficient lifestyle and not rely on anyone for my necessities. I have electricity, as well as a backup generator for emergencies, but I can still survive without it. I enjoy having wifi, cable tv, and air conditioning, but without power I can still live my life perfectly fine. I have a central HVAC system that provides me with heating and cooling, but that is far from my only heat source. I have a dozen ways of heating the cabin up without electrical power of any kind, even if I do lose a lot of my creature comforts. I don’t need air conditioning to survive, but several months a year I do need heat to live. I always keep a good 3 month wood supply for the furnace, just in case of a worst case scenario. I never have lost power for a long period of time, but if do I would just miss a few tv shows, and probably get a bit warm with no AC. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a cooling system as much as the next guy, but I won’t act like a baby if I have to go without one.
