It was 11:11, and I made a wish.
It was 11:11, and I made a wish.
I remember how when I was a little girl, if I looked at the clock and it was 11:11, my grandmother would tell me it was the good luck hour.
She would have me make a wish.
Even though I am almost thirty, I still make a wish whenever I see the clock at 11:11. I couldn’t tell you if any of those wishes ever really came true, but it just seemed like the thing to do. Last month, I was having some problems with my air conditioning unit. I couldn’t afford to have it fixed, unless the repair was minor. I called the HVAC company and asked them to send a technician to the house. When the HVAC service van pulled up, I was excited. I hadn’t had air conditioning for two days. I just happened to look over at the clock and it read 11:11. I made a wish that the air conditioning unit wouldn’t be too bad, and it wouldn’t cost too much money. The HVAC tech spent nearly an hour in the backyard before I saw him heading to his service van. When he came up the walkway, he didn’t go out back, but he came up on the porch and rang the doorbell. I opened the door and let him in. He asked me where the thermostat was. He told me that he couldn’t find a single thing wrong with the air conditioner. He wanted to check the thermostat to make sure it was okay. He tested the battery and told me that there was the problem. I didn’t even know I had to change the battery to the thermostat.
