Recently, we went to this wonderful area where we had to hike a little ways to get to our preferred camping area. We ended up coming to this old bridge that crossed a river. The bridge seemed a little unstable and this made my wife nervous. I thought she was being ridiculous when she said that we shouldn’t cross the bridge. So I just went ahead to show her how safe it really was. I was being a show off, and I should have been more cautious. I even had my backpack on one shoulder and it was not secured on my back properly. Well, I ended up tripping over one of the boards on the bridge and I dropped my backpack off the side of the bridge! This was a real shame because I had my sleeping bag, the portable A/C unit, and a few other things of importance. My wife was really angry because I didn’t listen to her and I dropped my backpack, but we weren’t about to let this stop us from enjoying our camping trip. We still made it across the bridge and I was able to see that my backpack floated to a certain area and stopped there. So we ended up climbing down that way and I was able to retrieve my backpack! I was thankful and I tested everything out including the portable A/C unit. The portable A/C unit was still working, but everything was soaked in my backpack! That night we used the portable A/C in our tent and I had to hang up my sleeping bag to dry. I had to share my wife’s sleeping bag that night.
