Last year, I was laid off, and for a while I had difficulty paying all of my bills.

I had to start going through my budget and only keeping things that were a necessity. When I reached my cooling system, it was so hard to not think of the a/c as a necessity, even though I knew it wasn’t. I really didn’t want to stop using my air conditioning system, but I really didn’t have much choice. So, I turned off my air conditioner and started suffering through the heat. I had to use wet washcloths to keep my forehead cool, cool enough to allow me to focus on everyday activities. I also would use my box fan and have it running for a few hours and I would open the windows to let in a cooling breeze. Even still with all of those combined, it was still no match for the wonder feeling of the air conditioning unit. Only after a few days I was missing having my cooling machine, and I was so tempted to just turn it on and enjoy, but I knew I needed every penny at this moment. Thankfully after a couple of months, things were looking up for me. I had managed to find another job, and even if the pay wasn’t great, it was enough to get me through. You know what was the first thing for me to turn back on? My air conditioning system, I even did a little joyous jump at hearing the amazing click and feeling cooling air come out of the a/c vents. It was so good to have my air conditioning back, I missed it so much.
