My friendship with my friend goes way back.

This is why both of us are still friends, because I assume he didn’t mean to lead me astray.

Let myself and others explain. When our HVAC plan was having some issues with working right, he was telling myself and others that he was surely the one to help myself and others with the problem, then he really told myself and others would be stupid to get the HVAC service tech, which is what I was originally planning on doing. He was telling myself and others how much money I could hold onto by purchasing the parts myself and letting him work on my HVAC unit. He seemed to enjoy knowing what he was doing, as he seemed to know the names of the HVAC parts and components. He cleaned the inside of the HVAC unit just like I have seen the HVAC service tech do.The problem is that he was too confident about his knowledge, and as a result, I ended up getting some parts that fit the HVAC machine, however they were not the defective parts. I paid all that currency for those parts & the HVAC supply store very clearly told me I could not get my money back. What’s even worse is that the HVAC service tech told me that now my warranty is void because I let a non-professional HVAC worker try to fix the HVAC unit. I didn’t realize this would happen & obviously, my good friend didn’t know that, either. He apologized a thousand times but I was still mad. Even though I kind of angry still, I realize he was only trying to help so we’ll just have to get past this little roadblock in our friendship.
