The winter is coming soon.

• The temperature is already cooling off tremendously, and I know that we really need to get our old electric furnace fixed really soon.

We put it off last year because we didn’t notice that it wasn’t working properly until it was almost spring. By that point, the temperature outside was already heating up and we thought that we could save money by just letting the furnace repairs go until the following winter. Well, here we are already and it’s almost time to start using the furnace again. Of course, we neglected to save up any money over the summer for heating repairs. Fixing your furnace is that last thing that you want to save money for when the weather is nice and sunny and you aren’t even trying to use your heating system for months at a time. All summer long, I put our heating system completely out of my mind and focused on enjoying the beach and the sunshine and trying to keep my house cool! I was worried much more about the air conditioning system than I was about the heating system, believe it or not. Anyway, now that the winter is basically upon us again, we’re going to be forced to do something about the electric furnace whether we like it or not. I guess I’ll go ahead and call our local HVAC company to see if they can come out and give us an estimate sometime this week. I have a bad feeling that it’s going to cost us a fortune to get our old furnace fixed.
