No power and no HVAC during the flood

Grace and I experienced a bunch of extreme rainstorms recently.

Grace and I paid the ultimate price for not being prepared. Even my mother told me a long time ago that I should have a backup generator along with emergency supplies. The emergency supplies she wanted included a giant food storage bin along with a small water supply in sizable water drums. Well, I didn’t have anything like that. The only thing I would have had was the emergency backup generator. If I had that, Grace and I would have been fine. The first few storms, her and I managed to get through just alright. The power never went out so all of us were able to use our Heating, Ventilation and A/C plan plus our sump pump was actually working at all times getting all that excess water out from our home. The last storm Grace and I got was one of the worst though plus all of us experienced a pretty dire power outage that lasted for almost a whole evening. This was enough time to cause awful flooding in our basement. Grace was trying to get all the water out with pails, but I couldn’t use any electricity or the sump pump because there was no power. If I had any power it would have been okay. The flooding got so bad, it ruined the Heating, Ventilation and A/C device plus most of our basement has to be repaired because of all the extreme flooding. Grace and I were finally able to get all the water out when the power finally came back on.
