Running inside with AC is different

Running inside with AC is different

My friend Becky and I both are runners.

Becky runs around town after work.

She does the hill by her house and runs to the school track. I like to go to the local gym and hop on a treadmill. She recently was talking about doing a half marathon with me. I looked up how long it would be and thought no problem. I can run that easily now. I even did a few practice sessions on the treadmill to see how I did. I ran strong and was hardly winded. Then it hit me, a half marathon would be done outside. You don’t go on a treadmill in a gym for it. I wondered how different outdoor running would be from indoor. It is extremely different! I did a few test runs to see if I could do it outside with my friend. First, not having any AC is a killer. The lack of cooling really made it tough. I got sweaty, fatigued and my thighs swelled. I basically wanted to sit down and give up around halfway into a typical run for me. Second, the uneven roads made it hard on my hips, knees and ankles. Lasly, not having access to water and a bathroom was a little nerve wracking for me. My friend seems to think I can adapt to no temperature control and put on a water pack. It sounds just awful to me. I like running on smooth terrain with water and perfect cooling showering on me. I think I am going to pass on the run.
