Getting help from nutritionist and personal trainer

For the majority of my life, I’ve been overweight.

I was always the chubby girl during school.

I got picked last for a team in gym class and never got asked on a date. Because of my weight, I was extremely introverted and shy and struggled to make friends. My weight problems worsened during college. When I graduated and started looking for a job, I felt that I was being judged by my appearance. I became depressed and knew that I needed to make some changes to my lifestyle. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to go about it. I read a whole bunch of articles online, but I found the suggestions confusing. It’s very easy to recommend an improvement in diet, but not as simple to actually put the plan in motion. It was taking me forever to get groceries, because I was reading every label. I then bought a whole bunch of stuff that I didn’t like or had no clue how to prepare. When I reduced my portions and cut out all of my favorite foods, I was so hungry by the end of the day that I’d end up snacking. Then I’d feel guilty and ashamed. I finally realized that I needed in-person assistance from a knowledgeable professional. I am lucky to have a health and wellness center in close proximity to my home. I signed up with a nutritionist as well as a personal trainer. I’ve learned how to follow a fulfilling but healthy diet. I’ve also learned how to properly workout. The first few months were quite difficult and I nearly gave up several times. However, the personal trainer has been especially supportive. She has helped me immensely. I am only three pounds from my goal weight.
