Boyfriend is not in good enough shape to handle remodeling projects

For years I have been telling my boyfriend Stan the importance of working out and living a healthy life.

I make Stan healthy meals, but I can’t force him to exercise regularly.

When we first started dating, he was already a bit out of shape. Now my boyfriend is downright chubby. The problem is that Stan believes he is still physically fit. He sometimes overworks or injures himself because he is not in good condition. Ha and I recently bought our first home. The place needs quite a bit of renovation before we move in. We often put in 8 hour shifts working on upgrades at the house. Right now, we are focused on preparing the floors for ceramic tiles. This requires my boyfriend to tear out the old carpet and remove the many tack strips. Then the cement board gets cut and screwed down. She is continuously bending over, lifting heavy things and twisting and moving around. Stan is so terribly out of shape that after two days of effort, he can hardly walk. He whines about pain in his back, hip, legs and feet for the entire week. I would like to work on our new house everyday or at least multiple days per week. If I head over to the house, Stan always wants to come with me and then he further injures himself. So unless I want him complaining and hurt all the time, I need to only work in moderation. I keep myself in peak physical condition. I workout every morning and make a point to stretch. Because of this, I can put in a long day of hard labor and be just fine. I have no aches, pain and don’t get tired on the job. I wish Stand would start working out so that he could keep up with me.
