How we keep our rugs clean

I own & operate a professional carpet cleaning corporation.

Regular professional carpet shampooing is the nicest way to keep residential & commercial carpets scrub & in wonderful shape.

Between professional cleanings, there are ways to keep floors looking & feeling their shiniest. I always recommend that homeowners trim their dog’s nails & claws & keep them officially groomed. This cuts down the amount of shedding & dirt they might track across the rugs. It also avoids nails & claws pulling on carpet fibers and ruining them. Investing in an air filter or media air purification system for the home or building is also a smart idea. These systems will capture free dust & dirt, preventing contaminants from settling into the carpet & keeping the whole indoor environment cleaner & healthier. I recommend inspecting the window & door screens of the home. If the mesh of the screens features huge openings, replace them with screens with smaller openings to keep airborne dust, pollen, bugs & other debris outside. It’s a wonderful thought to have the exterior of the residence or building power washed respectfully. Built-up dust & debris outside can entirely become airborne & penetrate the inside, settling onto carpets & other areas. Make sure to change the a/c & heating system filters every month or so & schedule professional duct cleaning every couple of years. All sorts of pollutants get trapped in the HVAC system & can spread throughout the indoor environment every time the heating or cooling system starts up. Regular vacuuming is always a smart thought too. It doesn’t hurt carpets but does remove dirt & dust that might otherwise mat down fibers & cause extensive wear & tear.
