How my business has expanded

How my business has expanded

I got into the professional cleaning business by accident.

During high school, I cleaned houses to get money to buy a car.

Next I started with my papa’s house & some friends of my parents, and they got me in touch with a few others, & by the time I graduated, I was just about working full-time. I’d saved up enough cash to invest in a van with our business name on the side & some professional equipment. So at first, I got buyers strictly by word-of-mouth. However, I soon realized that if I wanted to increase business, I’d need to advertise. At about that same time, I started looking for people to hire. I was finding it difficult to keep up with the number of tasks & had begun to get commercial buyers; Once I took on the cleaning needs of many local hotels, steakhouses & a clothing boutique, I had increased our staff to 10 employees & added one more van. Over the years, I’ve steadily given new features such as property management, paper supplies & basic landscaping. I now have a few trucks & I no longer work in the field. I keep busy in the office. There is tons of paper involved with the cleaning business. Along with the bills, I keep track of our gear, handle payroll, maintain the vehicles, stay current with local regulations & work on marketing; While our larger cleaning company is way more profitable, it’s also more time-consuming & stressful. I miss those early days sometimes.
