Making our own book jackets

Making our own book jackets

I am a self-published author and I have our book available to be gained through a kindle or be a hardcopy, the digital books cost me easily nothing to send people for free to get reviews or to get our name out there.

I designed the cover myself all online.

I just send the man a connect and I am good to go. The hardcopy books are quite a bit of cash. I have to have the book printed and use up all that paper, then also, making our cover was a lot of work too. I ended up going through one contractor to just do the inside of the book. They print all the words, chapter breaks and author information. I then receive the books separate from a cover. I do the printing for our own cover now. I actually bought a high tech digital printer. I can design our book cover the exact way I want it. I don’t need to worry about sizing being off, words in the wrong locale, or faded colors. I do all that work myself. The cover is so pressing on a book. Anytime I rely on anyone else to do it, it usually ends up a disappointment. I have thought about trying our hand at doing the whole book. Right now our printer can only cut, laminate and color covers. I might need to invest in a better printing component to do the middle area of the book. That way I don’t have to go through anyone and can handle all sales myself.
